Towards Precision Neurology Diagnosis of neurological disorders has always been pivoted on precision. But nowadays we are moving much further to Precision Neurology, with its goal to synergize continuous gains of knowledge in clinical and experimental neurosciences to utmost individualised diagnoses and treatments. Precision Neurology, thus, spans from epidemiology to genetics, body fluid biomarkers and imaging in diagnosis and prognosis of rare and common neurological disorders as well as to targeted treatments based on personalized decisions and supported by new technologies, such as artificial intelligence. This overarching theme will be in the focus of many sessions and may engage interest of all neurologists, being clinicians or scientists, general or specialized neurologists, younger or more advanced generations.

Neuropsychiatry: A Comprehensive Update

View the meeting page here

Neuropsychiatry is an exciting and rapidly growing field that promotes an improved understanding of the brain/mind relationship. It seeks to elucidate the brain circuitry involved in primary psychiatric disorders such as mood, anxiety, psychotic, and somatic symptom disorders, and in neurological disorders that present with cognitive, emotional, or behavioral problems. The ultimate goal of neuropsychiatry is to advance diagnostic and treatment options for patients suffering from these disorders.

The 25th Butters-Kaplan West Coast Neuropsychology Conference will examine new tools and methods in pediatric neuropsychological assessment and how these can be applied in clinical practice. The conference faculty includes renowned authorities in conceptualization of the assessment process, development of new assessment tools, and ways in which these tools contribute to clinical management.
Assessment domains addressed by the speakers will include infant and toddler development, IQ and nonverbal skills, executive function, language and academic achievement, memory, sensorimotor skills, effort, and social-emotional functioning. New developments in assessment of pediatric concussion, screening of high-risk populations, and application of neuroimaging to clinical decision-making will also be covered. Speakers will describe recent advances and provide insights into assessment approaches applicable to a variety of clinical populations.
Emphasis will be placed on test development and psychometric properties, clinical interpretations, and the utility of assessments in identifying clinical disorders and making practical recommendations to families, schools, and referral sources.
