Adult Neuropsychologist Opening in Neurology

The Brain Health and Memory Center of the Neurological Institute at University Hospitals (UH) and the Department of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine are recruiting 1 full-time clinical neuropsychologist. Based on candidate interest, this position can include an emphasis on evaluation, neuropsychological rehabilitation, or a combination of the two. The position would primarily serve adults with wide-ranging clinical conditions, including neurodegenerative processes, concussion/traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and psychiatric conditions. Our neuropsychologists are members of many multidisciplinary teams within specialty programs and clinics, including opportunities for interested faculty to work within the Foley ElderHealth Center and Brain Health & Memory Center, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Deep Brain Stimulation Program, UH Concussion Management Program, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus Clinic. In addition to clinical responsibilities, research is strongly encouraged, and the institute/school of medicine provide extensive resources in support of research, as well as opportunities for internal funding to support faculty in building research programs. University Hospitals is an integral component of the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, the Cleveland NIH StrokeNET Center, and houses an NAE Level 4 Epilepsy Center. Training of medical students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows is an integral role for all faculty members. Neuropsychology faculty also have the opportunity to contribute and participate in our 2-year, APPCN-member postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology in addition to residency and fellowship programs in Neurology and other related specialties.

Individuals with interest in all service areas provided by the Neuropsychology Section of the Brain Health and Memory Center will be considered. Candidates will be especially competitive if they have a particular interest in 1) serving older adults with brain health and memory concerns through the Foley ElderHealth Center and/or 2) working with patients who have a history of acquired brain injury through a combination of assessment and rehabilitation/intervention services.

Requirements: Candidates must have a license or be license-eligible to practice psychology in Ohio. Competitive candidates will have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology prior to joining the faculty, will be board-certified or board-eligible, will have a track record of peer-reviewed publications, and will have clinical experience within an academic medical center. Academic rank is open and will be commensurate with the candidate’s academic record.
