Neuropsychologist Faculty Position
The Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) seeks a clinical neuropsychologist to join our faculty at Spaulding Rehabilitation. Spaulding Rehabilitation is a nationally recognized leader in rehabilitative care. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Medical Staff by the Trustees of the Hospital and recommended for a faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.

Spaulding is the only rehabilitation hospital in the U.S. that has been designated as a Model System by the National Institute on Disability Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and burn injury. Spaulding has three inpatient hospitals, a skilled nursing facility, and 29 outpatient centers, which support its long history of impactful research, state of the art clinical care, and extensive clinical and research collaborations nationally and internationally. Roles and Responsibilities: The neuropsychologist will have primary responsibility for providing clinical neuropsychological services to adult patients at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown and in our other locations. Clinical duties will include outpatient (70-80%) and inpatient (20-30%) service delivery, including neurobehavioral consultation, neuropsychological assessment, treatment planning, patient and family counseling, and consultation with members of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Primary patient populations include those with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, brain tumors, and other neurologic or medical conditions. Candidates with appropriate training may also provide consultation to the Pediatric Rehabilitation Program. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working in an interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation setting. Expertise in traumatic brain injury and stroke is preferred.
In addition, our faculty members have close relationships and collaborations with the Mass General for Children Sports Concussion Program (https://www.massgeneral.org/children/concussion) and Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program that provides clinical care for military veterans and their families (www.homebase.org). The amount of time spent conducting and collaborating on research is negotiable and depends upon the career goals of the candidate.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to research activities in collaboration with investigators in the Harvard Medical School Department of PM&R, and to participate in career development for students and trainees.
Qualifications: These positions require the completion of a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or neuropsychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited doctoral program, a predoctoral internship with training in neuropsychology at an APA/CPA accredited program, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. The applicant must be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Massachusetts. Board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in neuropsychology, or board-eligibility, is preferred but not required.
